Just wondering what my options are when braces were 20 years ago and I don’t see that ortho any longer. I had braces in middle school and went to a holistic dentist in my mid-twenties who said my palate had a very high arch. I’ve always felt that I couldn’t rest my tongue or teeth comfortably and love the idea of a gentle realignment. I applaud your dentist for telling you this! I agree with them that we can shift our teeth by applying gentle regular pressure to the teeth.
Some treatment options can only address certain dental issues, so having a clear picture of what you want your teeth to look like afterward is key. Like traditional aligners, at-home aligners gradually move your teeth into the correct positions. When you finish with one set of aligners, you will move on to the next until you have achieved your treatment goal. These invisible aligners typically take six months to a year to achieve the desired results in comparison to in-office treatment that can take up to two years. Historically, braces have been the way to do this.
Straighten your teeth without traditional braces.
If the misalignment is not bad, you can choose some home trials, such as tooth bands. These gently pull teeth together and work well for gaps. If you feel your treatment is making things worse or have concerns your dentist will not address, I recommend finding another orthodontist and getting a second opinion. Be sure to tell him what your concerns are, the current treatment protocols, and what the other dentist had to say. All dentists in an area talk to each other and most of them are friends.
While metal braces are the traditional route to a brighter smile, here are three other ways to straighten teeth without braces. Invisalign is obviously a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a way to straighten your teeth without braces. They are so discreet that your friends won’t be able to tell you’re wearing them while you speak, laugh or smile. However, this form of orthodontic treatment still requires occasional checkups at the orthodontist and Invisalign can be even more expensive than traditional braces. I’m 61 and my front left tooth has shifted forward and onto my bottom lip within the last six months. The second tooth from my front left tooth has protruded for years and rests over my lower lip.
How to make your Teeth Straighter without Braces (Alternate options)
In some simple cases teeth gap bands may be enough . The really complex cases may require braces or retainers. Veneers, Crowns, Dental Bonding and Dentures are also used to fix teeth gaps. I actually have an article that discusses ways to treat teeth gaps in lots of details. I believe you will find all the required info about fixing your front teeth there.

There are many ways to get straight teeth without traditional metal braces. You can use clear aligners, invisible braces, palatal expanders, retainers, and more. If you want a purely cosmetic fix, there are options for that as well, like contouring or veneers.
Consulting Your Orthodontist
Putting the tongue on the spot doesn’t work for everyone. My dental arches were pushed inward by the braces so now my tongue protrudes past my front teeth. If I put my tongue on the spot my face looks puckered and strange and it feels uncomfortable . Besides making me look weird the braces also took away my bite , gave me a cross bite , and made me have gum recession despite excellent oral hygiene . If I new there was any chance at all that something would go wrong I would never ever agreed to have braces. Going on four years since we requested & was promised a video.

There are few procedures than can be applied to even the lengths of your teeth. If you are not interested in adjusting the length of the longer one then you need to explore methods that can make the shorter tooth longer. Bonding is a dental procedure that can also work well in some cases. Both veneers and bonding are cosmetic procedures.
You have all the rights to get a second opinion from other professional orthodontist if something bothers you. It’s little hard to me to advice you here, especially when you on that progressive stage of treatment. But you can make an appointment to an other orthodontist to show your teeth. However, the gums can only take 0.5 to 4 pounds of pressure.
In some cases a veneer would work better than a simple bonding. Some measurements will also need to be done, because the aligning systems have to be custom-fit for them to work properly. Of course not all dentists offer all treatments, so you would want to get a second opinion as well. This article has been viewed 1,789,476 times.
It's just always safer to have a dental health professional oversee teeth straightening. I’m wondering if you ever made a video or diagram showing the proper placement of the tongue. Lately I have been considering Invisalign to correct an issue that I’ve had with my top teeth since childhood. I’ve been planning to get it corrected, but I have also read about risks of root resorption, which is apparently pretty common. I wouldn’t want to move that tooth down into its proper place just to have it or others have to be extracted later.

But if you got unaligned teeth and want to avoid braces then follow all the above methods and information to straighten your teeth at home. Palatal expanders are dental devices that widen the upper jaw and create more space in a child's mouth while their mouth is still growing. The created space gives the teeth the room they need to shift into the correct position.
